This Student Educational Safari by Best Northern Tours & Safaris is a 12-day immersive journey into the heart of Tanzania. This safari is designed to engage students with the fascinating culture, incredible wildlife, and stunning landscapes of Tanzania, whilst also offering opportunities for educational exploration and growth.
Our journey will take us from the bustling streets of Arusha to the vast plains of the Serengeti, down into the depths of the Ngorongoro Crater, and finally to the tranquil shores of Zanzibar. Along the way, we will meet with local communities, observe Africa’s Big Five in their natural habitat, and learn about the diverse ecosystems that make Tanzania such a unique destination.
Day by Day
You will be greeted at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. Spend the rest of your day relaxing or exploring the city.
We depart early for the Serengeti, famed for its annual wildebeest migration and abundant wildlife. Over these three days, we’ll enjoy game drives, learning about the diverse species inhabiting the park.
We’ll then head to the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera that serves as a natural amphitheatre for some of the densest populations of large mammals.
Our journey takes us to Lake Manyara National Park, known for its flamingos and tree-climbing lions. We’ll spend two days exploring the park’s diverse ecosystems, including its groundwater forest, acacia woodland, and grassy floodplain.
We’ll catch a flight to the beautiful island of Zanzibar. Here, we’ll explore Stone Town’s rich history, relax on the white sandy beaches, and snorkel in the turquoise waters teeming with marine life.
Return flight from Zanzibar to Arusha, where you’ll make your connecting flights home.

Activities & Transportation
Activities will include city tours, game drives, cultural exchanges, nature walks, and snorkeling. All activities are designed to be educational, encouraging students to learn about local cultures, ecosystems, and wildlife.
Transportation will be in a comfortable safari vehicle, equipped with roof hatches for unobstructed wildlife viewing and photography. For the leg from Arusha to Zanzibar, we will travel by plane.
Accommodation & Meals
Accommodations will vary from comfortable city hotels in Arusha, to tented camps in the Serengeti, and beach resorts in Zanzibar. All accommodation options have been selected for their comfort, safety, and proximity to our activity locations.
Meals will be a mix of local and international cuisine. Special dietary requirements can be catered for upon request.
