Day by Day
Kick-off your journey from Arusha and head to Londorossi Gate (225km, 5-6 hours). Begin your trek through the vibrant rainforests of Kilimanjaro to Simba Camp at 2,625 meters.
Trek east across the Shira Plateau, the remains of an ancient volcanic eruption, towards Kikelewa Cave (12km, 6-7 hours). Here, you’ll camp for the night, with the majestic Mawenzi Peak serving as a stunning backdrop.
Continue your ascent towards Mawenzi Tarn (6km, 3-4 hours). This day offers remarkable views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks.
Begin the hike towards the northern side of Kilimanjaro, arriving at Buffalo Camp (8km, 5-7 hours). This lesser-traveled path provides stunning views of the northern plains.
Descend slightly before continuing your trek across the northern side to Third Cave (8km, 5-6 hours), with unspoiled panoramas accompanying you.
Trek towards School Hut (15km, 4-5 hours), your base for the night. Prepare for the final ascent after an early dinner.
Begin your final ascent to the summit around midnight. Witness the sunrise at Gillman’s Point before making the final push to Uhuru Peak (6km, 6-8 hours). After reaching the peak, descend to Millennium Camp (13km, 4-5 hours).
On the final day of your trek, descend to Mweka Gate (10km, 3-4 hours). Return to Arusha (100km, 2-3 hours), closing the chapter on your memorable journey.
